SOAP Web Services Overview

Birst SOAP Web Services gives a Space or Account Administrator programmatic access to administration commands.

Space or Account Administrators log in to Birst from a web browser and perform space, data, and user management tasks. After initial configuration, web services can automate routine maintenance tasks. In addition, using web services and single sign-on capabilities, you can tightly integrate Birst with other web applications.

Operations you can perform using web services include:

• upload files
• process data (publish)
• copy or swap spaces
• manage users and groups and ACLs
• manage user profiles (for OEM/white labeling)
• export reports
• automate Birst Connect
• add or update a Live Access source
• manage development lifecycle (template commands)

Most, though not all, of the web services have a corresponding command that you can run using Admin - Command Window. See Administrative Commands.
