Report and Dashboard Security

To control user access to reports and dashboards, permissions can be applied to groups and report catalog folders. See Creating Groups and Adding Users to Groups for information on assigning permissions to groups and assigning users to groups.

All reports and dashboards are contained within the space catalog. The space catalog has a Shared folder that allows Space Administrators to publish folders to their space members. Users with dashboard access permission can save (publish) their own dashboards in a Private folder that only they and the Space Administrator can see. If a dashboard is saved to the Shared folder, then all users can see it.

Sub-folders can be created within the Shared folder with specific ACLs so that only certain user groups can see specific dashboards. See Modifying Folder Permissions in the Report Catalog for information on setting permissions for folders in the report catalog.
