Global tab
The Global tab contains general settings of dashboard catalogs. When you create a dashboard catalog, the settings have default values. To change a setting, click the cell in the Value column and change the value. The check box in the Default column is cleared. To reset a setting to the default value, select the check box in the Default column.
On the Global tab, you find these general settings:

Auto-hide toolbar | Specifies whether the toolbar is hidden after a short time when not used. |
Content language | Locale ID (LCID) of a language that is used to display dashboard content. LCIDs support language cultures and sub-cultures. For example, specify 09 as the locale ID for English or 1033 for English (USA). Select the Default check box or specify 0 to automatically detect and use the language of the Dashboards application system. |
Default dashboard height | Default height for newly created dashboards. The value 0 = auto-size automatically fits the dashboard height to the available space in the browser or iPad application. You can specify other values in pixels. Negative numbers are not allowed. If either the dashboard height or the dashboard width is set to 0, then both values are treated as 0 = auto-size. |
Default dashboard width | Default width for newly created dashboards. The value 0 = auto-size automatically fits the dashboard width to the available space in the browser or iPad application. You can specify other values in pixels. Negative numbers are not allowed. If either the dashboard height or the dashboard width is set to 0, then both values are treated as 0 = auto-size. |
Show helper lines | Specifies whether helper lines are shown in the dashboard edit mode. Helper lines make it easier to arrange widgets relative to the dashboard or to other widgets. |
Start screen | Unique name of the start screen that is shown after you log in to Dashboards. The dashboard that you specify here will be opened automatically as start screen in the content area of Dashboards after every log on. |

Use snapping | Specifies whether snapping is active between widgets in edit mode. If snapping is active, a dragged widget sticks to another widget or dashboard when it is in a certain distance range. |

These settings are for BI Dashboards mobile app:

Allow mobile access to this project/application | Specifies whether users of BI Dashboards mobile app can log on to this project/application. |
Allow saving offline views | Specifies whether users of BI Dashboards mobile app can save offline views of the application content. |
Offline data validity in days | Specifies in days how long offline data persists in the application, until it is removed automatically by the application. The value 0 means no expiry of data. Saving of offline views must be activated. |
