Connections
In the Connections view you administer the connections to other databases. You can use these connections, for example, for the import of structures.
To create a database connection, click Register Database. If you require the character code translation from OEM to ANSI for the new database connection, select the check box. Click the button to open the dialog Data Link Properties. In the dialog Data Link Properties you configure a connection to a Microsoft Jet or SQL database. Since many functions in the Designer use this ID, you must assign a data source ID to the database connection in the system table Data Sources.

Name | Descriptive element name of the database connection. This name is available in the Connection ID column of the Data Sources table, when you configure a new data source. |
Database Type | This column is filled automatically, when the connection has been specified, for example, Microsoft SQL Server. |
