Creating BI application components

You can create a BI application component to preserve your Infor BI Dashboards content and selected settings. You create BI application components using Infor BI Dashboards. After you created an .app_dashboards component, use the Infor BI Application Composer to create a custom BI application. Your custom application can be then added using the Dashboards Service.

To create an application component:

Select Share > Create BI Application Component.

Select the type of application component to create:

Option	Description
Self-contained application	The component is delivered as part of an entire application.
Incremental application update	Small, dependent parts are delivered as an update. An incremental update requires previous updates.
Cumulative application update	A version-independent update that contains all changes is delivered.

Select dashboards and folders that you want to export and click Next.
The list of content connections is displayed.
Click Next.
Select the languages in which you want to export your translated text and click Next.

Select the settings to include in the application component. Optionally, select the settings that you want to protect.

Option	Description
Start screen	Includes the selected start screen.
Default size for new dashboards	Sets the default size for new dashboards.
Default widget margin settings	Includes the default margin settings.
Widget title for new widgets	Sets the widget title for new widgets.

You can allow saving offline views and set the offline data validity for Dashboards.

Note: By default, all settings are both selected and protected.

Click Next.
The detailed information about the dashboards, folders, content connections, languages, and settings is displayed.
Click Finish.
Your dashboard content, selected content connections and settings are saves with .app_dashboards extension.
