Creating and editing ROA and RWA formulas

You can create ROA and RWA and formulas in the Edit OLAP Formula wizard, or in the Insert Function dialog.

We recommend that you use the Edit OLAP Formula wizard to create and edit these formulas.

To create ROA and RWA formulas in the Edit OLAP Formula wizard:

  1. In Design Mode, click the cell in which to create the formula and then click Edit OLAP Formula on the Objects tool bar.
  2. Select Attributes from the 'Formula type' list.
  3. Select the database alias to use.
    If you are creating the formula in a Value cell of a hyperblock, the appropriate database alias is automatically selected.
  4. Select the cube to use.
    Optionally, for the Cube, Dimension, Attribute and Element fields, you can clear the Show caption check box to display the unique names.
  5. Select the dimension which contains the attribute to use.
  6. Select the hierarchy to use.
  7. Select the attribute to use.
  8. Select the element for which the formula will return the attribute value.
  9. To create an RWA formula, select Allow writeback of attributes.
    Note: If you select one of the intrinsic attributes,Allow writeback of attributes is disabled.
  10. Click OK.
