Basing a sparkline on descendants
A sparkline can show information about the descendants of a selected element, at a specified level of the hierarchy, for a particular slice of data. The parent element can be a specific element, or it can be the currently selected element in, for example, a combo box.
To base a sparkline on the descendants of an element:
- Select Descendants in the Sparkline Wizard.
- Select a sparkline type from the list at the top of the Wizard.
- Click .
- Select the Alias, Cube and hierarchy to use.
- From the Parent field, select the parent element or the report object (combo box, for example) which contains the parent elements.
- From the Children on level field, select the level of the hierarchy at which the required descendants are.
- To specify the slice of data to which the sparkline relates, select an element from each hierarchy of the selected cube.
