Adding a new carrier at the enterprise level

  1. Select Facility > Enterprise.
  2. Select Configuration > Carrier to open the Carrier page.
  3. Click New to access the Carrier detail view.
  4. Specify this information on the Carrier tab:
    Carrier
    Specify a short description of the carrier.
    Carrier Type
    Specify the type of carrier. Carrier types are user-defined codes that categorize your carrier into groups for reporting and sorting purposes.
    Carrier Name
    Specify the name of the carrier. This field is used to identify the carrier.
    Carrier Group
    Specify the name of the carrier group. This information field is used to capture the details of carrier category.
    Preferred Zone
    Specify the name of the preferred zone, which is used to capture the preferred zone within the facility for storing equipment for this carrier. The preferred zone is configured in the Alert/Event page for system directed location assignments.
    Hot load alert color
    Optionally, select the color for the hot load. If specified, these colors must be 6 alpha-numeric, consisting only of 0-9 and A-F.
    Hot load alert (hours)
    Optionally, specify the number of hours for hot load alert. In 3D yard view, the equipment can be colored by the equipment status or by the carrier. If the numbers of hours are exceeded for this field, then an alert can be triggered to change the color of the equipment in the yard view.
    Yard view door alert color
    Optionally, specify the color for door alert. If specified, this field must be 6 alpha-numeric, consisting only of 0-9 and A-F.

    Optionally, specify the number of hours for view door alert. If the numbers of hours are exceeded for this field, then an alert can be triggered to change the color of the equipment in the yard view.
    Yard view door warning color
    Optionally, specify the color for door warning. If specified, this field must be 6 alpha-numeric, consisting only of 0-9 and A-F.

    Optionally, specify the number of hours for view door warning. If the numbers of hours are exceeded for this field, then an alert can be triggered to change the color of the equipment in the yard view.
  5. Specify this information on the Address tab:
    Address Line (1-4)
    Specify the street address of the supplier.
    City
    Specify the city where the supplier is located.
    State
    Specify the state or province where the supplier is located.
    Zip
    Specify the zip code or postal code of the supplier.
    Country
    Specify the country where the supplier is located.
    Phone
    Specify the phone number for contact 1.
    Fax
    Specify the fax number for contact 1.
  6. Specify this information on the Charge Settings tab:
    Demurrage Alert
    Specify the number of days or hours, the equipment for this carrier can be in the yard before the carrier starts to bill an additional cost to the company. If no corresponding values are indicated for the commodity associated with the equipment inventory, then the carrier values are used.
    Detention Alert
    Specify the number of days or hours, the equipment for this carrier can be in the yard before the carrier starts to bill an additional cost to the company. If no corresponding values are indicated for the commodity associated with the equipment inventory, then the carrier values are used.
    Storage Alert
    Specify the number of days or hours, the equipment for this carrier can be stored in the yard before the carrier starts to bill an additional cost to the company. If no corresponding values are indicated for the commodity associated with the equipment inventory, then the carrier values are used.
    Demurrage Start Time Field
    Indicate the time when the demurrage time starts. This time is used to determine the duration for which an equipment remains at the facility. Possible options:
    • Expected Arrival Time
    • Want Time
    • Ordered Time
    • Checkin time
    • Checkout Time
    • Last Move Time
    • Last Inspection Time
    • Open Time
    • Close Time
    Detention Start Time Field
    Indicate the time when the detention time starts. This time is used to determine the duration for which the equipment begins waiting for service or unloading/loading. Possible options:
    • Expected Arrival Time
    • Want Time
    • Ordered Time
    • Checkin time
    • Checkout Time
    • Last Move Time
    • Last Inspection Time
    • Open Time
    • Close Time
    Storage Start Time Field
    Indicate the time at which the equipment is considered stored or parked at the facility. Possible options:
    • Expected Arrival Time
    • Want Time
    • Ordered Time
    • Checkin time
    • Checkout Time
    • Last Move Time
    • Last Inspection Time
    • Open Time
    • Close Time
    Demurrage End Time Field
    Indicate the time at which the system stops counting the demurrage time. Possible options:
    • Expected Arrival Time
    • Want Time
    • Ordered Time
    • Checkin time
    • Checkout Time
    • Last Move Time
    • Last Inspection Time
    • Open Time
    • Close Time
    Detention End Time Field
    Indicate the time at which at which the detention time ends. Possible options:
    • Expected Arrival Time
    • Want Time
    • Ordered Time
    • Checkin time
    • Checkout Time
    • Last Move Time
    • Last Inspection Time
    • Open Time
    • Close Time
    Storage End Time Field
    Indicate the time at which the storage tracking time ends. Possible options:
    • Expected Arrival Time

    • Checkout Time
    • Last Move Time
    • Last Inspection Time
    • Open Time
    • Close Time
  7. To add or remove facility records, select the Facility Assignment, and then click Modify.

    When facilities are selected for the carrier, only the carrier values associated with the selected facility shown in the equipment carrier and driver carrier lists at the facility level. On the Modify Carrier Facility Assignment page, use these procedures to add or remove facilities:

    • To add a facility, select a facility from the Available column and click the arrow in the Available header to move to the Selected column. Then, click OK. The list of available facilities only includes active facilities.
    • To remove a facility, select facility from the Selected column and click the arrow in the Selected header to move to the Available column. Then, click OK. Note that a facility cannot be removed from the carrier when a table has a value that references the carrier.
  8. Click Save.
