Equipment Requests

Requests for equipment from WMS, manufacturing, or host system can be received into YMS. These requests are generated in the facility or warehousing process and sent to YMS to show the need for equipment in order to perform the loading process. The equipment request record is created when the external system sends the request to YMS.

The Equipment Request page can be used to create moves of equipment within the application based on the host system request and on the availability of equipment within the facility. The host system may not be tracking the equipment in the yard, and decisions for which equipment to use to fulfill the request vary based on carrier, destination, and time in the yard. Therefore, requests for equipment are put in a list for users to determine the appropriate equipment to be moved.
