Visual Yard map

The Visual Yard page shows the equipment, locations, and drawing objects drawn to reflect the current status of the yard. The icons on the equipment, show the current state such as Empty, Inbound, or Outbound; equipment status; and the presence or absence of a move task for the equipment.

After the Visual Yard map page is displayed, you can use these options:
  • Alert color: Select equipment or carrier to view how the alert color is viewed on the map. To view a pop-up of the color status codes, select the ellipse button.
  • Filter template: Use this filter to filter the visual yard based on the template results.
  • Filter equipment: Use this filter to locate a specific piece of equipment in the yard. With this filter, you can hide all other pieces of equipment except the one specified.

Depending on the equipment or area selected on the map, these areas of information may display to the left of the map:

  • Location: The location area shows the location name, type of location, zone, sequence, and number of equipment allowed for the location. You can click Details to view additional details about the location.
  • Equipment: The equipment area shows the equipment ID, equipment flow, equipment type, status, and current state of the equipment. You can click Details to view additional details about the equipment. The icons in the Equipment area are used to show contents, status, and indicate whether a move task is pending for the equipment. From the 3D yard, the equipment can be dragged to a location to create a move task and validate the move request. The Complete button confirms an existing move, updating the equipment location to the destination location of the move and removing the task detail.
  • Appointments: The appointments area shows appointment start times and end times. You can click Details to view additional details about the appointment.
  • Tasks: The tasks area shows task type, equipment ID, task status, from location, and to location. You can click Details to view additional details about the task. Use the Complete button to complete the task.

The map shows every equipment record from the equipment inventory table as an image overlaid with the appropriate icons to show contents, status, and any pending move tasks for the equipment. Examples of equipment include trailer, rail car, barge, or vehicle.

When multiple equipment inventory reside in the same location, the navigation arrows step you through the different equipment records that reside at that location.

Although the location has coordinates and dimensions for height, the location shows like a parking spot on the ground. The location name shows within the location. When equipment exists at the location, the equipment is drawn in 3D inside of the location coordinates using the dimensions of the equipment.

The front third of the equipment image indicates whether the equipment is empty or has materials on it. This table shows the image and status:

Blank Equipment is empty.
Has pallet icon Equipment has materials on it. The direction of the arrow indicates material loading, arrow is point into the equipment, or needing unloading, arrow is point out of the equipment.

The middle third of the equipment indicates the status of the equipment of the status of the load based on the settings for the carrier. This table shows the image and status:

Color by Equipment The status box in the middle of the equipment is colored based on the equipment status and the color of the status configured in the Equipment Status form
Color by Carrier The status box in the middle of the equipment is colored based on the carrier time windows, appointment, and the color of these time window fields configured in the Carrier page:
  • Hot Load: The equipment has been opened and the planned departure time indicated in the appointment is less than the carrier configured hot load alert time (hours)
  • Hot Load: The equipment has not yet been opened and the planned arrival time indicated in the appointment is less than the carrier configured hot load alert time (hours)
  • Door Warning: The equipment has been opened and the planned departure time indicated in the appointment is less than the carrier configured door warning alert time (hours)
  • Door Warning: the equipment has not yet been opened and the planned arrival time indicated in the appointment is less than the carrier configured door warning alert time (hours)
  • Door Alert: the equipment has been opened and the planned departure time indicated in the appointment is less than the carrier configured door alert time (hours)
  • Door Alert: the equipment has not yet been opened and the planned arrival time indicated in the appointment is less than the carrier configured door alert time (hours)
  • Black: No warning or alert has been configured or time period passed

The final back third of the equipment indicates movement. This table shows the image and movement status:

Blank Equipment does not have a move scheduled.
Has truck in motion icon Equipment has a pending move scheduled. The corresponding yard location for the move also shows indication of the pending equipment move into the location.
