Overview

The Infor YMS application is designed to oversee the movement of equipment (trailers, containers, railcars, etc.) in the yard.

Yard management is a critical link in logistics management and has a significant impact on the overall efficiency of any specific facility or distribution center as well as the whole supply chain. According to industry leading analysts, on average, a trailer is physically in a yard idling either empty or loaded for over two-and-a-half days.

You can use YMS to track equipment, in real-time, from yard check-in, to storage, to staging, to loading and unloading, and to yard check-out with discreet location management while within the yard.

YMS can be used as a standalone application or can be integrated with other applications such as enterprise resource planning systems (ERPs), warehouse management systems (WMS), and transportation management systems (TMS) to further optimize the supply chain.

Real-time equipment tracking by discreet location in YMS is achieved by using radio frequency identification (RFID) and automatic equipment identification (AEI) technology.
