Migrating On-premise customers

Ensure these requirements are met before migrating the on-premise customers from v10.1.x to v 10.2.x

  • The version of the pre-migrated database must be 10.1.x or 10.2.x
  • The migration revision archive file (if available) is downloaded from the KB 1550353 and extracted in the <XM_INSTALLED_DIR> folder.

The on-premise customers can be migrated by executing the run_dbMigration.bat migration script for Windows or the run_dbMigration.sh for Linux. Executing this script upgrades the transactional, reporting and receipts database. The reporting database information is retrieved from the ETL properties file.

Note: The run_dbMigration.bat migration script for Windows and the run_dbMigration.sh for Linux is modified in the version 10.2.19. The modification has an impact on the migration of the Transactional database and the Reporting database, for the on-premise customers only. The Transaction and Reporting db migrates from the available version to the latest version.

The Receipts database migration process is not modified and continues to run full migration scripts

These commands can be located in the run_dbMigration.bat file:

  • %JVM_HOME%\bin\java -ms128m -mx128m -Dconf.dir=%CUST_HOME% -Dcatalina.home=%CATALINA_HOME% -Dtenant=%TENANT% -Dtargetdb="OLT,REC,RPT" -DworkingDir=%WORKING_MIG_DIR% -Dlocale=en_US -classpath "%MIGRATE_TRANS_DB_CP%;%MIGRATE_RPT_DB_CP%" largesoft.tools.migration.extn.datatools.InMemoryMigration
    Note: JVM_HOME must be set to Java 17 (Amazon Corretto 17 is recommended). Before running the script, remove any -XX:MaxPermSize or other PermGen-related JVM arguments, as these options are not supported in Java 17.
  • -Dconf.dir=%CUST_HOME%
  • -Dcatalina.home=%CATALINA_HOME%
  • -Dtenant=%TENANT%
  • -Dtargetdb= "OLT,RPT,REC"
  • -DworkingDir=%WORKING_MIG_DIR%
  • -Dlocale=en_US

    These application parameters can be modified as required:

    • -Dlocale: The locale to be used by the reporting db migration must be specified.
    • -Dtargetdb: A combination of OLT, RPT and REC.
    • -DcurrentVersion=10.2.1 This parameter is optional. If not used, the tool confirms current version from the database
