Run or rerun migration using the xmdbtool client and xmdbtool bkg

Specific migration scripts can be executed using the XMDBTool client run_migration.bat or XMDBTool client run_migration.sh scripts.

Specify these conditions:

  • Mode: The value of the mode must be set to FULL or INCREMENTAL. By default, the value is set to INCREMENTAL.
  • targetdb: A comma separated list must be specified for the target databases. The valid values are:
    • OLT: Transactional database
    • RPT: Reporting database
    • REC: Receipts database

    By default, all the three databases are specified as the target database.

    Note: Migration of the central database is not supported.
  • migrateDbVersions: A comma separated list must be specified for versions (for INCREMENTAL mode).

By default, the migrateDbVersions is not activated. To activate the migrateDbVersions, add the specifymigrateDbVersions.enabled application parameter to the xmdbtool.properties file and set the value to True. If migrateDbVersions is not specified, the latest version is used.

Example:

run_migration.bat -migrateDbVersions 10.2.13,10.2.14

This command runs v10.2.12 to v10.2.13 and v10.2.13 to v10.2.14 incremental migration scripts.

However, if migrationDbVersions are not specified and the current version is 10.2.18, the v10.2.17 to

10.2.18 migration scripts are executed.

Note:  In some scenarios, the XMDBTool client run_migration.bat or XMDBTool client run_migration.sh cannot be used and the migration of the transactional db (OLT) is not performed as scheduled. This issue is encountered when the application server is not and running.
