Adding a project or charge code
You can use the Project or Charge Code (alco_project_number ) table to display a value in the lists of project or charge codes.
- Select Manage > Corporate Data.
- Select Project/Charge Code in the Data Type field.

Specify this
information:
- Name
- The name of the project or charge code.
- Code
- A code for the project or the charge code in the company. This code does not have to be unique within the application, but it must be unique within the hierarchy. If the code is modified, you receive a warning message that the child codes and the codes that are dependent in the code hierarchy, must also be modified.
- Description
- The description of the project or charge code.
- Parent Code
- The name of the parent task in the company's hierarchy. You cannot edit this field after you save the project or the charge code.
- Client Name
- A client of the project or charge code.
- Charge Type
- A type of charge for the project or charge code.
- Start Date
- The date on which the task must start. The employees are not allowed to bill charges to the project code before this date.
- End Date
- The date on which the task must end. The employees are not allowed to bill charges to the project code after this date.
- Approver
- The name of the person responsible for approving the time or expenses charged to this project or charge code.
- Alternate Approver
- The name of an alternate person responsible for approving the time or expenses charged to this project or charge code.
- Office
- The office location of the project.
- Activity Type
- The project activity type to be associated with the project or the charge code.
- Chargeable
- The project code is chargeable or not chargeable.
- Always in MRU
- The project or the charge code is displayed in the most recently used lists.
- Status
- The status of the project or the charge code. The status can be Active or Inactive.
- Click the Applications tab.

Select the applications
in which the project or charge code must be displayed.You can perform one of
these actions:
- Select the All Applications check box to display the code in all applications.
- Highlight a single application to display the code in only one application and click Add.
- Click Shift and select the first and last application in a range of applications and clickAdd.
- Click Control to select several noncontiguous applications in the list and click Add.
- Click the Membership tab, if required, and add the data groups. See, Adding or removing data groups from a corporate date type.
- Specify an external key, if required. See, Creating an external key.
- Click Add to save the data.
