Adding business rule strings

Use to update the business rule messages.

To add a business rule string:

  1. Select Manage > Business Rules > Business Rule.
  2. Click Find twice to locate a business rule that you want to edit.
  3. Select the business rule.
  4. Complete the appropriate information. See Editing a business rule.
  5. Click the Strings tab.
  6. Specify this information:
    Description
    Specify a description of the business rule. The description is displayed on the Edit Business Rules screen to help you identify the rule.
    Policy
    Specify an explanation of the underlying business policy. This message is displayed when the user clicks Policy for a business rule.
    Interactive Message
    Specify the interactive message, a brief, direct explanation of the violation. If the Notification value for the business rule is Interactive or Both, this message displays when the user violates the business rule.
    Report Message
    Specify the report message, a brief description of the violation. If the Notification value for the business rule is Report or Both, this message is attached to the document when the user violates the business rule.
  7. Optionally, you can specify a parameter name surrounded by angle braces (< >) that are replaced by the parameter value when the string is displayed on screen. See Including parameter values in the messages of a business rule.
    Note: You can click Edit Add Resource Key or Find Resource Key to manage your translation resource keys for the various types of business rule string messages. See the Infor Expense Management System Administration Tool User Guide.
  8. To save your changes, click OK.
