Types of business rules
When creating documents, you can trigger these types of business rules:
- Warning If you specify an item that violates a business rule with this severity level setting, a warning message is displayed that states the violation. You are not required to take action but the violation is logged to the albr_br_violation table and displays on the business rule violation report. For example, when a required vendor is not used for an expense item, a business rule violation is generated.
- Explanation If you specify an item that violates a business rule with this severity level setting, a message is displayed that requests an explanation from you about the violation. You must specify an explanation before proceeding. For example, you can have a business rule requesting users to explain all miscellaneous cost items.
- Invalid If you specify an item that violates a business rule with this severity level setting, a message is displayed that describes the violation. You cannot add the item.
