No Empty Document Policy template
Use this template to create a business rule that requires at least one line item to be included in every document.
These parameters are displayed on the Parameters tab of the Edit Business Rules screen.
- Line Item Type
- Select the type of line item that must be included in the document:
- Expense Report Line Item: Select this value to require a line item in every expense report.
- Travel Plan Line Item: Select this value to require a line item in every travel plan.
- External Key
- Optionally, specify a unique ID. If your company uses the Expense Management Import tool to populate the Expense Management database, external keys are imported into the database automatically. See the Infor Expense Management System Administration Tool User Guide.

You can create a business rule for the products in Expense Management. This example shows the possible values for this business rule.

No empty document policy strings
This table shows the values for strings:
| Strings | Value |
|---|---|
| Description | Requires that a line item is included in the document. |
| Interactive Message | This travel plan does not have any line items. You cannot submit a travel plan if it does not have actual travel expenses (line items) associated with it. |
| Policy | Employees cannot submit empty or blank travel plans. All travel plans must have some actual travel expenses associated with them. |
