IFS roles and the Birst group synchronization
Permissions and security within the Birst Space are defined by Birst groups. Users obtain the permissions and security of the group to which users are members.
Users assigned to the IFS Security Roles are automatically members of the corresponding group in Birst.
If more granular access is required, additional security configuration can be setup within Birst. For example, if some users require access to only ER reports, access to other modules must not be assigned.
See these topics in the Birst online help:
- See “Creating Groups and Adding Users to Groups” for instructions to set up a group and add existing users to a group.
- See the “Modifying Folder Permissions in the Report Catalog” for controlling access to the dashboards and reports.
- See the “Creating a Custom Subject Area” for managing access to custom subject areas.
