Configuring a cost center

You can use the Cost Center (alco_cost_center_config) table to configure the set of cost centers where segment 1 code is the same as the configuration segment 1 code. Every flat cost center must have a segment 1 code.

  1. Select Manage > Corporate Data.
  2. Select Cost Center Configuration in the Data Type field.
  3. Specify this information:
    Number of segments
    The number of segments to be included in the cost center.
    Separator
    The character to separate the cost center segments.
    Status
    The status of the cost center. The status can be Active or Inactive.
    Code
    A code for the first cost center segment.
    Display Element
    The value of the cost center. Select Code to display the code value for the cost center segment. Select Name to display the description of the cost center segment.
    Label
    The description of the cost center segment.
    Segments 2 - 9 Optional checkbox
    Select this check box if you do not want to specify a segment when a new cost center is added by the user.
  4. Complete the appropriate information for the remaining cost center segments.

  6. Click Add to save the data.
