Labor planning

The Planning screen enables you to specify the required number of users to specific areas and activities based on operational demand. This screen provides visibility into resource requirements, constraints, and workload distribution, ensuring that staffing decisions support timely order completion without exceeding available dock or packing capacity.

These sections are displayed on the Planning screen:
  • Work Summary Table: Displays these columns:
    • Time: The hourly slots for the next 24 hours, starting from the facility’s Day Boundary time. For example, if the Day Boundary time is 5:00 am, the schedule runs from 5:00 am to 11:00 pm and continues from 12:00 am to 4:00 am the next day.
    • Work (hours): The total hours of work scheduled for the hour when the work is due. For example, the 10:00 slot includes all work due between 10:00 and 10:59:59.999.
    • Planned Users: Number of users defined during planning mode. You can only modify this field value.
    • Assigned Users: Number of users allocated based on the shift schedules and break configurations. This value is calculated based on the assigned users, shift start and end times, and other scheduled activities. The values are displayed in decimal format as the number of minutes worked within a given hour slot may be less than 60 minutes due to shift start times, breaks, or lunch periods.
  • Chart: Displays if work is progressing ahead or behind plan. Progress is calculated based on planned users or assigned users, depending on the option selected in the left panel. This metric is available for all activities as each activity includes a defined work due value and a deadline.

When you update the number of planned users, the associated charts refresh automatically. You can validate the data and save metrics, using the Save option.
