Configuring a Hazmat code

To configure a hazmat (Hazardous Material) code:

  1. Select Facility > ENTERPRISE > Enterprise > Configuration > Codes > Hazmat. The Hazmat Codes screen is displayed.
  2. Specify this information:
    Hazmat Codes Key
    The key for the hazmat code.
    UN Code
    The valid hazmat UN Code.
    USDOT Description
    The information about the hazardous material as defined by the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT).
    UN Code Description
    The information related to the UN code.
    Flash Point
    The temperature at which the material can ignite.
    Flash Point UOM
    The unit of measure for the flash point.
    Technical Name
    The scientific or chemical name of the hazardous material.
    Emergency Contact
    The contact information to use during an emergency.
    Marine Pollution
    Indicates whether the material is classified as a marine pollutant.
    CFR Packing Code
    The Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) packing code for the hazardous material.
    NMFC Code
    The National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC) code for the hazardous material.
    Hazmat Code Text UDF
    The additional information related to the hazardous material.
    Hazmat Code Numeric UDF
    The numeric values related to the hazardous material.
    Hazmat Code Date UDF
    The dates to track the hazardous material.
    Hazmat Code List UDF
    The type of hazardous material selected from the predefined list.
    Hazmat Code Search UDF
    The type of hazardous material selected from a search field.
  3. Click Save.
