Counter Sales

The Counter Sales functionality supports operational workflows in hybrid facilities that incorporate a customer‑facing display area and a traditional warehouse storage area. This model is designed to streamline walk‑in or over‑the‑counter sales while ensuring accurate inventory control, seamless allocation, and consistent processing across both zones.

In the display area, customers or counter associates pick items manually from the accessible bins or shelves. These items are physically brought to the sales counter, where the associate initiates the order in ERP. Once the order is transferred to WMS, the application automatically allocates and picks the items using the Counter Sales allocation strategy. Display‑area picks are treated as auto‑picks, enabling immediate fulfilment without requiring RF scanners. This zone also supports outbound serial capture for serialized items, ensuring required tracking information is collected as part of the order entry process.

In the Warehouse area, warehouse personnel perform standard RF‑based picking for items stored in the warehouse. These picks follow normal WMS processes, including RF-directed picking, lottable or lot number capture, and serial capture where required. Items from the warehouse are physically brought to the designated Pick‑To location, where items merge with auto‑picked display items for consolidated shipment.

By integrating these two picking methods within a single Counter Sales process, hybrid facilities can operate efficiently across customer‑accessible display inventory and secure warehouse inventory. This approach ensures:
