Item pick location configuration (Assign Locations tab)
Use the Assign Locs tab to configure a pick location for the item.
To configure a pick location for the item:

Select the Assign Locs tab to access the
pick location fields. You must create at least one row to define a pick case location
and one row to define a pick piece location.
Note: You can use the Excel Import and Export features to create or update item pick locations.
- Import: Enables you to create or update item pick locations by importing the required fields. You can include only the required fields or provide additional data for other fields as required.
- Export: Enables you to export data for selected item pick locations. You can export all available data or, the data displayed in the current list view.
- Click New. The Assign Location detail view is displayed.

Specify this information:
- Location Type
- The type of storage location required. Possible values:
- Layer
- Case
- Pick
- Speed Line
- Other
This is required if owner/item combination is assigned to Location.
- Location
- The code of the location within the facility. You can enter the location or use the Lookup icon to select a specific location.
- Minimum. Capacity (Master Unit)
- The minimum quantity allowed in the assigned location for the
item. Replenishment priority levels increase as the inventory levels
approach minimum capacity. Required if you populate the Capacity Minimum on the Item/Loc tab. Note: By default, the value specified on the Item/Loc tab is displayed.
- Maximum Capacity (Master Unit)
- The maximum quantity of the item that the location can hold. When
the application drops below this amount, a replenishment task is triggered.
The priority of the task depends on how close the inventory level is to the
maximum capacity. Required if you enter the Capacity Maximum on the Item/Loc tab. Note: By default, the value specified on the Item/Loc tab is displayed.
- Minimum Replenishment UOM
- The minimum unit of measure (UOM) you can use before a replenishment task is triggered. For example, a full case or pallet is needed before dispatching a replenishment task. Default value: EA
- Allow Replenishment from Bulk
- Determines whether a replenishment task is triggered from a
Bulk/Reserve location to a Case,
Piece, or Bulk/Reserve
location. Note: By default, the check box is selected when the Location type is PICK-Case or PICK-Piece.
- Allow Replenishment from Case
- Determines whether a replenishment task is triggered from a
replenishment task from a Case location to a Piece,
or Bulk/Reserve location. Note: By default, the check box is selected if the Location type is PICK – Piece. The check box is disabled if the Location type is PICK – Case.
- Allow Replenishment from Piece
- Determines whether a replenishment task is triggered from a Piece
location to a Case or
Bulk/Reserve location. Note: By default, the check box is disabled when Location Type is PICK – Piece.
- Replenishment Shelf Life
- The minimum remaining shelf life of an item. The application
considers this value during the replenishment process for each location.Note:
- This field can only be modified if the Replenishment by Shelf Life Days check box is selected on the Task tab of the Owner screen.
- Each item can be assigned multiple pick locations with the required Replenishment Shelf Life
- Replenishment Priority
- The priority of the replenishment task:
- 1 = Highest priority
- 9 = Lowest priority
- Replenishment Override
- The quantity that forces the creation of a Priority 1
replenishment task for case or each pick locations. If high-priority
replenishment is not required, no action is required.Note:
- If the location is already filled to maximum capacity, no replenishment task is created.
- This field is optional;
however, it is required if you populate the Capacity Minimum on the
Item/Loc tab.
By default, the value specified on the Item/Loc tab is displayed.
- UOM Qty to be Replenished
- The UOM quantity. This calculation is based on the Minimum Replenishment UOM.
- Lot Number
- The Lot assigned to the item for replenishment. If a lot number is
defined, the application uses that lot during replenishment. If the Lot
Number is not defined the application determines the lot based on standard
rotation rules. The application populates the lot numbers in the Lot Number field automatically for the
assigned speed line when an item is moved, replenished, or adjusted in the
specified location. This automatic update occurs only when all these
conditions are met:
- The Location Type field is set to Speed Line.
- The UPDATESKUXLOCLOT parameter is enabled on the System Settings screen.
- The value must be specified in the Speed Pick Group Strategy field on the Outbound tab of the Item screen.
- The Force One Lot per Speed Pick – Not allocating by Lottables check box is selected on the Speed Pick Group screen.
