Allergen Putaway Class Code

Use this screen to define allergen classifications for items. An allergen is a substance that can cause allergic reactions in other substances, such as peanuts, dairy products, gluten, or shellfish. The application uses allergen classifications during putaway. Only compatible allergen classes are stored in vertically adjacent locations within the same bay to prevent cross-contamination.

You can create allergen classes to group related allergens together. For example, an allergen class name ‘nuts’ can include allergens, such as peanuts, almonds, and cashews. After allergen classes are created, you must select the appropriate allergen class in the Allergen Putaway Class field on the Inbound tab of the Item screen. During putaway process, the application uses the allergen class assigned to the item with the allergen compatibility rules configured on the Allergen Compatibility screen to determine whether the item can be stored above or below the inventory assigned to other allergen classes.
