Defining a BOM UDF event for BOM
- Select Facility > ENTERPRISE > Enterprise > Administration > Extensible Business Rule > Rule Maintenance. The Rule Maintenance screen is displayed.
- Click New. The Extensible Business Rule Designer window is displayed.
- Click + in the header row.
- Specify this information:
- Name
- The name of the BOM UDF.
- Description
- The description of the BOM UDF.
- Facility
- The facility to run this rule.Note: You must verify the facilities after importing a rule from a different environment. Facilities are displayed correctly when the From and To fields have the same number of facilities.
- Execution type
- The type of execution, such as Business Object.
- Business Object
- The type of execution, such as Bill Of Material.
- Event
- The type of event, such as Post Insert.
- Always Execute
- If this check box is selected, the rule is executed for all application procedures for the selected events.
- Click + in the Step row.

Specify this information:
- Name
- The name of the step.
- Click Add Expression to create an expression using existing database relationships defined in the business objects, if required.
- Click Add Action.

Note: If the LHS or RHS Select Source Type is not displayed, click ellipse.
- Select Action Type
- The type of action to perform, such as Assign Bio Attribute Value.
- Select Destination Type
- The type of destination, such as Business Object.
- Select Business Object Type
- The type of business object, such as Bill Of Material.
- Select Attribute
- The attribute to select, such as Bill Of Material Text UDF (STRING1).
- Select Source Type
- The type of source, such as Constant.
- Select Constant Type
- The type of constant, such as String.
- Enter String Value
- The value to be displayed for the selected attribute, such as bom ebr is working.
- Click Save.
