Allergen Compatibility
Use this screen to define allergen compatibility rules that control whether items assigned to a specific allergen class can be stored above or below items assigned to another allergen class during putaway operations. For example, you can define whether items assigned to the Nuts allergen class can be stored above or below items assigned to the Dairy allergen class.
If the ALLERGPUTHANDLING parameter is enabled and the check box is selected on the applicable Putaway Strategy Detail record, the allergen compatibility is validated during system-directed and RF-assisted putaway operations. The application compares the allergen class assigned to the item being placed with the allergen classes of inventory in occupied adjacent locations above and below the candidate location in the same stack.
The application uses the configured allergen compatibility rules are used to determine whether the candidate location is eligible for putaway. If the location meets all applicable compatibility requirements, the location remains eligible for selection.
If a location does not meet the configured allergen compatibility rules, the application searches for another location.
The application uses a default-deny model. If compatibility rule does not exist for a combination of allergen classes and position, the combination is considered incompatible and does not allow the location to be used for putaway.
If an allergen class is not assigned to an item, allergen compatibility validation is skipped and the location is evaluated using standard putaway rules.
If the application rejects a location because of an allergen compatibility conflict, the reason for the rejection is recorded in the Putaway Trace report to help identify the conflicting allergen classes and locations.
Example:
You can configure compatibility rules such as:
- NUTS above NUTS = Allowed
- NUTS below NUTS = Allowed
- NUTS below NONE = Not Allowed
- DAIRY below NONE = Not Allowed
- If a compatibility rule is not defined for an allergen class combination and position, the location is not considered by default.
- This feature applies only to system-directed and RF-assisted putaway operations and does not apply to picking, shipping, inventory moves, or transfer operations.
- The Allergen Compatibility screen is displayed only when the ALLERGPUTHANDLING parameter is enabled on the Feature Control screen.
