Performing task-directed load task using background processing

Use the Load Task screen to execute task‑directed loading as a background job instead of processing in real time through standard RF load screens.

When you submit load tasks, you can verify the status of the job from the Background Process Review screen.

  1. Select Outbound Menu from the RF device Main Menu. The Outbound Management (OBM) screen is displayed.
  2. Select More.
  3. Select More.
  4. Press Background Jobs. The Background Jobs screen is displayed.
  5. Press Load Tasks. The Load Task LD10BG screen is displayed.
Note: This option is displayed only when the BGJOBTASKDIRECTEDLOAD parameter is enabled on the Feature Control screen.
  6. Specify this information:
    Lpn
The License Plate Number of the picked product to be loaded. Valid LPNs available for loading can be found on the Outbound Unit tab of the Load Management screen.
Note: If the HARDERRORDURINGLOADING parameter is enabled on the System Setting screen, an error message is displayed when an item is configured with Inbound Catch Weight or Outbound Catch Weight. This error is displayed if you do not specify catch data on the Catch Weight/Data tab of the Shipment Order screen in the WMS application.
    Route
The route code for the load. If route is used to initiate the tasks, the application suggests a license plate based on the stop assigned to the orders (normally in reverse stop sequence).
    Door
The door number assigned to the load. If the door is used to initiate tasks, the application suggests a license plate based on the stop assigned to the orders (normally in reverse stop sequence).
  7. Press Enter. The Load Task LD11BG screen is displayed.
  8. Verify and update the details, if required:
    LPN
The license plate number of the picked product.
Note: You can also specify different license plate from the same stop. An error message is displayed if LPN from the different stop is specified.
    Door
The door number assigned to the load.
    Note:
    • An error message is displayed if a different door ID is specified.
    • The door ID can be overridden only if:
      • New ID represents an outbound movable unit on the same stop.
      • The ALLOWRFLOADOVERRIDE parameter is enabled on the System Settings screen. If this parameter is disabled, an error message is displayed if you scan a different ID.
      • The Load Sequence field is set to No Restrictions, the alternate ID scanned by the loader does not have to be on the same stop as the suggested ID.
      • The first task for a load is completed. A Drop ID is created with an ID identical to the Load ID. All the tasks on the Drop ID are considered child IDs. Select Execution > Productivity > Drop Id to view the task details.
    Temp
The temperature to be maintained for the load.
    Floor Loaded
Indicates if the contents of the license plate are physically loaded onto the trailer floor. Possible values:
    • Yes
    • No
  9. Press Enter. The load transaction is submitted for background job processing.
