Defining operations
To add a new operation:
- Select Work Order > Configuration > Operation.
- Click New.
- In Operation Name specify the operation type; for example, Assembly.
- In Description, specify a description of the operation.

In Operation Type, select an operation type. Your choices are:
- Joins Components into Parent Inventory: Component inventory is depleted. Assembly would normally be classified as this type.
- Operation Does Not Change Inventory: Inventory is not impacted. An operation, such as packaging would normally be classified in this category.
- To save your changes, click Save.
