Auto Hold for Expired Inventory

This functionality enables the system to put on hold, inventory lots that are expired or close to expiry date. The status of these inventory lots is automatically set to Hold, thereby, preventing the shipment or allocation of expired inventory. If you run the Expiration Auto Hold by Lot job on the Job List screen, the system determines the expired inventory based on these parameters:
  • The value specified in the Shelf Life Auto Hold Threshold Days field.
  • The date on which the job is run.
  • The value specified in the Shelf Life Code Type field, such as Manufacturing Date, or Expiration Date.
You can view the inventory lot records that are on hold, on the Inventory Balances screen. The Inventory on Hold screen displays the reason code for the inventory lot that is on hold. The reason code can be specified using these fields:
  • Shelf Life Auto Hold By Lot - Expired
  • Shelf Life Auto Hold By Lot - Pre Expired
Note: These fields are displayed on the Outbound tab of the Item screen.
