Expiration date validation for allocation pickings
In Infor WMS, outbound shelf-life validation of an item can be configured by expiration and manufacturing date. Date limits can be set by item, conditional validation, lot control by ship to, and order detail. To prevent expired product from being allocated even if rotating by manufacturing date, you can configure the system to have the expiration date validated.
You can set the Default for Validate Expired Inventory during allocation check box on these tabs:
- Task tab located on the Owner page
- Processing tab located on the Ship To page
This table shows when the Validate Expired Inventory during allocation check box is selected:
If | Then |
---|---|
Default for Validate Expired Inventory during allocation check box is selected on the Ship To page | Validate Expired Inventory during allocation is selected for the shipment order |
Default for Validate Expired Inventory during allocation is not selected on the Ship To page, but is selected on the Owner page | Validate Expired Inventory during allocation is selected for the shipment order |
When these configurations are defined, the expiration date and the manufacturing date are validated. The expired inventory is not allocated or picked through dynamic (DA) picking:
- The Rotate By field must be set to Manufacture Date. This field is displayed on the Outbound tab of the Item screen.
- The Lottable Validation field must have a validation where Lottable04 and Lottable05 are required values. The Lottable Validation field is displayed on the General tab of the Item screen.
- The Validate Expired Inventory during allocation check box is checked on the Shipment Order screen.
