Dynamic case picks - pick by load

The pick method used to select items with dynamic picking logic based on the load ID instead of the individual items. This method is commonly used in high-volume warehouses to improve efficiency and streamline order fulfilment.

To perform a dynamic picking by load:

  1. Select Picking > Dynamic Pick > Pick by Load from the RF device Main menu. The Dynamic Pick screen is displayed.
  2. Specify this information:
    Load
The load ID for which the picking to be performed.
    ExtLd
An alternate load ID. Usually this ID is from another system if you import the load.
    Door
The door number that identifies the location where to load the trailer.
    Route
The route code for the load record.
    Carrier
    The carrier code.
    Seq
The type of sequence to be followed during picking. Possible values:
    • Item
    • Location
    • Light
    • Heavy
    Uom
The unit of measure used for picking. Possible values:
    • Pallet
    • Case
    • Layer
    • Each
    Note:
    • You can press C to view the case picks.
    • You can select the corresponding number (1-9) for the applicable UOM level.
    • By default, this field is cleared. If the UOM is not specified, the system sorts the number sequence. For example, Full Pallets (Level 1) is distributed first. The UOM levels are:
      • 1 = Level 1 (EA)
      • 2 = Level 2 (IP)
      • 3 = Level 3 (CS)
      • 4 = Level 4 (PL)
      • 5 = Level 5
      • 6 = Level 6
      • 7 = Level 7
      • 8 = Level 8
      • 9 = Level 9
    • If the UOM is not specified, picks are displayed to the picker based on the permission type(s). If the picker has permission for case and pallets, the system prioritizes the pallet picks first.
  3. Press Enter. The Dynamic Pick screen is displayed.
  4. Verify the details and specify the LPN number from which you are picking in the LPN1 field.
  5. Press Enter. The Stage Pick screen is displayed.
  6. Specify the picking location in the Loc/Equipment field.
  7. Press Enter.
Note: These messages are displayed based on the scenario if you enable the STOPCOMPLETEMSGFORDA parameter from the System Settings screen:
    • A confirmation message is displayed when you complete all picks for that stop before proceeding to the next stop.
    • If the shipment order or part of shipment order is not picked completely for that stop, the All the picks for stop 2 not completed. Do you want to continue? message is displayed. The system does not display the next pick task if you click No.
  8. Continue picking shipment orders for other stops.
