Assignment Rules tab

  1. Click the Assignment Rules tab.
  2. Specify this information:
    Create Assignments
    Flag that determines whether picking assignments are created in this zone.
    Max Pick Lines
    If create assignments is on, this is the maximum number of pick lines that can be in one assignment.
    Max Pick Containers
    If create assignments is on, this is the maximum number of pick containers that can be in one assignment.
    Max Case Count
    If create assignments is on, this is the maximum number of cases that can be in one assignment.
    Zone Break
    If create assignments is on and this flag is selected, then a new assignment is created for each zone.
    Break by Ship To
    If this check box is selected, picks in the wave are grouped for each Ship To order (Group by Ship To) to create assignments. Possible scenarios:
    • If the Create Assignments, and Break by Ship To check boxes are selected, picks are grouped for each Ship To to create assignments.
    • If the Create Assignments, Zone Break, and Break by Ship To check boxes are selected, picks are grouped for each Zone and for each Ship To to create assignments.
    • If the Build Cluster Assignments, and Break by Ship To check boxes are selected, picks are grouped for each Ship To (grouped by) and segregated to multiple clusters (positions) in the cart that is configured to create assignments.
    • If the Build Cluster Assignments, Zone Break, and Break by Ship To check boxes are selected, picks are grouped for each zone and by each Ship To is segregated by the multiple clusters (positions) in the cart configuration to create assignments.
    • If the Build Cluster Assignments, Break by Carton Type, and Break by Ship To check boxes are selected, picks are grouped for each Ship To on orders, which are segregated by carton type on pick detail to create assignments.
    Max Cube
    If create assignments is on, this is the maximum cube that can be in one assignment.
    Max Weight
    If create assignments is on, this is the maximum weight that can be in one assignment.
    Max Ship Tos
    The maximum number of Ship To’s that can be placed in one assignment.
    Note: If the value is set to 0, the maximum Ship To value is not considered.
    Perform Secondary Merge Sort
    If this check box is selected, the secondary merge sort is performed for orders in that zone.
    Note: You must select the Zone Break check box to break the assignments by zone when performing the secondary cartonization process.
    Build Cluster Assignments
    Flag that turns on the functionality of grouping picks together and determining the type of vehicle required to optimize the space on the pick vehicle.
    Note: If you select Build Cluster Assignments, the Create Assignments selection is automatically cleared. Only one of the selections can be flagged on the same zone.
    Assignment Carton Group
    Determines the carton group used for the Build Cluster Assignments within the zone.
  3. Click Save.
