Pragma Windows configuration
SSH or Telnet client or server software is required to connect RF devices to a Windows server and display the UTF-8 encoded fonts correctly. If running Meta RF on a Windows operating system, Pragma Fortress SSH Server is the required server software. Ensure you are using the Pragma version identified in the Platform Support Matrix, or newer. The client software on your device must be capable of displaying unicode, wide characters, as UTF8 encoded text.
On a Windows server, the simple command prompt does not work for a multibyte language such as Chinese or Japanese. The fonts used by the Windows command prompt alone are not capable of displaying all languages. Windows fonts are generally limited to a specific locale or locale group, even if you use the UTF8 code pages. To get around this limitation, you must use the Pragma software, configured for the UTF8 character set, to host SSH sessions instead of the native Windows terminal server. Client connections from a Windows desktop can connect to Pragma using PuTTY clients configured for the UTF8 remote character set to properly display UTF8-encoded Unicode characters.
