Creating work orders in wave planning

You can also initiate the process to create work orders in the Wave Planning module. Create work orders in Wave Planning if a product is part of a bill of material. You usually use this method to create work orders if the quantity of the finished goods item is insufficient to completely fill all of the orders on the wave.

To create work orders in wave planning;

  1. Select Wave > Execution > Maintain Waves.
  2. To display a list of waves, enter specific search criteria as needed and click Search.
  3. Select a wave record to view or update.
  4. Select Function > Work Order Eligible by Order or Function > Work Order Eligible by Item.
  5. A window displays a list of items on the current wave that have a bill of material configured.
    • If you select Work Order Eligible by Order, the window shows a list of items that you can include on a work order and lists each order for the items.
    • If you select Work Order Eligible by Item, the window shows a list of items and a summary of the quantity information across all orders on the current wave.
  6. Select the records that need to have work order jobs created and click Generate.
