Mass shipping pick detail lines
You can retrieve candidate order lines based on selected criteria, including drop ID (outbound pallet or container) using the Pick Detail screen. You can also retrieve candidate lines based on drop ID location and ship them by clicking .
In some specialized operations, shipment must occur when containers are released for shipment. These containers might contain only a portion of a customer’s order. The application selectively retrieves and ships pick detail lines based on the drop ID (outbound container) or location (current placement of outbound container).
Below are some common examples why warehouses would use the Pick Detail screen.
- A warehouse receives orders that are bound for multiple locations as each container becomes ready for shipment; it is to be shipped immediately.
- From time to time, customers call and ask that a portion of their order be shipped by overnight carrier due to an emergency requirement. The rest of the order can be shipped normally.
- Occasionally, personnel from local retail outlets come to the warehouse or distribution center to pick up a portion of their order. An associate can simply pack what they want to take to a drop ID, and ship it as soon as they leave.
