Generating a Master Bill of Lading number

You can generate the Master Bill of Lading (BOL) number on the load maintenance screen. For example, if you want to generate the Master BOL number before you submit the Master BOL report, you can select the Generate Master BOL Number action within load maintenance.

To generate the Master BOL number:

  1. Select Outbound > Load Management > Maintenance. The Load Maintenance list view is displayed.
  2. Click the Search icon to display the list of load IDs.
  3. Select the applicable load ID. The load ID is displayed within the Load Maintenance detail view.
  4. Select Actions > Generate Master BOL Number.
    • The generated number is displayed on the Load Maintenance detail screen in the Master Bill of Lading Number field. Note that if you generate the Master BOL number for the load ID again, the Master BOL Number is updated. The Master BOL number is recalculated and regenerated each time you select the Generate Master BOL action.
    • When you select to generate the Master BOL number, the Master Bill of Lading Printed field is automatically reset to No. The No field value reflects that the document with the newly generated Master BOL number has not yet been printed. You can manually set the value to Yes.
