Planned assignments overview

The planned assignments feature automatically organizes picking tasks into logically organized groups. This feature is activated when the Create Assignments option is selected on the Assignment Rules tab of the Zone Detail screen. Supervisors can assign each planned assignment to an associate at the warehouse in the Unassigned Work screen.

Associates using RF devices automatically receive assignments when they log in to Task Manager, if they have permission to perform picks. You can also select the option on the RF device to pick a specific assignment. The application tracks assignments through completion. Supervisors can manage unfinished assignments by transferring the remaining assignment to another associate if necessary.

Warehouses using paper-based picking can also take advantage of the planned assignments. Paper-based assignments can be completed by RF-assisted picking or by using the complete assignment feature—either on a workstation or RF device.
