Adding an equipment checks strategy

You can add an equipment checks strategy containing equipment questions. The questions are presented when an equipment operator logs on to a piece of equipment or changes equipment.

To add an equipment strategy:

  1. Within the facility level, select Configuration > Strategies > Equipment Checks from the WMS menu. The Equipment Checks list view displays.
  2. Click New. The Equipment Checks Strategy screen displays with general header fields on the top portion of the screen and strategy detail fields on the bottom portion of the screen.
  3. Specify the header information:
    Equipment Check Strategy
    Identifying name of the strategy (required field)
    Description
    Description of the strategy (required field)
    Create Indirect Activity Type Record
    Check box that determines if an indirect activity record is created (checked) or not created (not checked)
    Indirect Activity Type
    Drop down list of available indirect activity types
  4. Specify the strategy detail information:
    Sequence
    Automatically generated sequence number for an equipment question. Initial default sequence number value is 10 with each new sequence added for the strategy incremented by 10. (Required field)
    Question Category
    Select the category area associated with the equipment question. The default value is no selection/blank field.
    Equipment Check Question
    Type in the specific equipment check question. (Required field)
    Answer Type Format
    Select the applicable answer format from the drop-down list. (Required field)
    Required - Yes or No
    Select whether the equipment check question must be answered (Yes) or does not have to be answered (No). The default value is no selection/blank field.
    Disable Equipment if Question is answered
    Select if the equipment is disabled based on the user's response to a Yes/No question.
    • If you do not want the equipment to be disabled based on the user's answer to a Yes/No question or if a Yes/No answer is not applicable, do not select either Yes or No. The default value is no selection/blank field.
    • If you select Yes, the equipment is disabled if the user answers Yes to a Yes/No question.
    • If you select No, the equipment is not disabled if the user answers No to a Yes/No question.
  5. Click Save. The new strategy is created and the first equipment checks strategy question displays in the Detail list on the bottom portion of the screen.
    • If you want to create another equipment check question for the strategy, click the New button in the details (bottom) area of the screen.
    • If you want to delete an equipment question, click the check box next to the question within the list you want to delete and click the Delete button in the details (bottom) area of the screen.
    • If you want to export the equipment questions to a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, click the Export to Excel button in the details (bottom) area of the screen.
