Outer labels are printed for all top level pallet containers. Inner labels are printed for case quantities within each pallet and/or for inner containers such as totes or boxes. If any containers or cases exist which are not contained in a top level pallet, a generic catch-all outer label is created to hold them (one catch-all outer label per order).
- Cartonization
- Three fields on the Cartonization Carton Type definition also affect label printing:
- Container Type: Pallet containers are eligible for outer labels or inner labels. Pick containers are eligible for inner labels. Other container types are not eligible for these labels.
- Print Carton Labels for Container: Determines if a label should be printed for a container of this type (based on the Carton Type of the DropId or CaseId).
- Print Carton Labels for Contents: Determines if labels should be printed for the contents of the container.
Example DropID of type PALLET:
- If Print Carton Labels for Container is turned ON for PALLET container type, print an outer label if this is the top level pallet DropId. If not the top level pallet, print an inner label.
- If Print Carton Labels for Contents is ON, print labels for the cases and containers within the pallet.
Example DropID of type TOTE contained within the PALLET:
- If Print Carton Labels for Container is turned ON for TOTE container type, print an inner label for the TOTE.
- If Print Carton Labels for Contents is OFF, do not print labels for the cases and containers within the TOTE.
Example CaseID of type CASE contained within the PALLET:
- If Print Carton Labels for Container is OFF for CASE container type, do not print an inner label for the CASE (no separate label for the CaseID itself).
- If Print Carton Labels for Contents is ON, print labels for the case quantities within the CASE.
