Putting inventory on hold automatically at receipt

An item can be put on hold automatically during an RF receipt based on the item configuration. This feature can create a hold by lot, license plate, or both. Examples of using this are creating a Customs hold for product imported from another country or using an Incubation hold for food product that needs to cure for some time following production.

To configure an item to be automatically placed on hold:

  1. Select Configuration > Item. The Item is displayed.
  2. To display a list, use the Search feature.
  3. Click the Detail icon for an item. The Item Detail is displayed.
  4. Click on the Inbound tab.
  5. Specify this information:
    Automatic License Plate Hold at Receipt
    Hold code to use if the item is automatically placed on license plate hold upon receipt. This is only used if a LPN is assigned.
    Calculate Automatic License Plate Hold Code at Receipt
    Identifies the criteria to be used to calculate the date/time to automatically release a license plate hold.
    Note: Only used if the hold is to be automatically released. This can be calculated using either:
    • The Date/Time of the Receipt
    • The Manufacture Date (Lottable04 Value) recorded
    Number of Hours for Automatic License Plate Hold
    The number of hours to keep the LPN on hold if an automatic release is desired. Leave this as zero(0) if there is not going to be an automatic release
    LOT Hold Code
    Hold reason to be applied when a new lot is received for this item. Select the code from the drop-down menu.

    The number of hours to keep the LOT on hold if an automatic release is desired. Leave this as zero(0) if there will not be an automatic release
  6. Click Save. Once the item has been configured to automatically create a hold during RF receipt, you do not have to take any additional steps during the receipt. Inventory holds are created for the reasons as defined when the receipt is completed.

    There are various methods available to remove holds created during receipt. These include:

    • The workstation Maintain Holds screen
    • The workstation Held Inventory screen (remove license plate holds only)
    • The RF Remove Holds screen
    • Automatically using the Scheduler to process the release job for holds assigned an Automatic Release Date/Time.
