Moving picked inventory
After orders have been picked and/or packed for outbound shipments, you can continue to move the inventory to other locations as the fulfillment process is continued.
As the pick is confirmed, the system creates a new license plate in the system based on the information input by the operator during the pick. This new license plate is determined by:
- If a full license plate (also referred to as ID) is picked, that license plate remains the license plate for the picked inventory.
- If the operator specifies a drop ID (or "to" ID) during the pick, that becomes the license plate following the pick. All inventory picked to the same drop ID can be managed together.
- If the pick is not for a full license plate and the operator does not specify a drop ID during the pick, the case ID that is created during allocation is the new license plate tracked in inventory.
You can also repack the license plates created during picking by using the RF Pack function. As this function is used, the inventory can then be moved and tracked by using the new license plate created with that function.
There are two methods available to move picked inventory: by ID (license plate) or by equipment.
