- Consider Current Pick Location Inventory When Determining Lots for pre-allocation
- Indicates how the system chooses the lots for each item
during pre-allocation. If this box is not checked (Off), the system chooses the
lot numbers to pre-allocate strictly using inventory balances at the Lot level
and the rotation rules identified. If this flag is checked (On), the system
considers the current inventory in the forward pick location (Case or Pick)
along with the rotation rules to determine the lot numbers that should be
pre-allocated.
This feature allows the operation to bypass strict LOT rotation in forward pick locations in situations when there is no inventory for the next lot number in the assigned CASE or PIECE pick location.
Note: If this selection is checked, the System Setting for over-allocation (ALLOWOVERALLOCATIONS) must be turned Off to allow this feature to work correctly. Over-allocation causes the system to allocate the next available lot from forward pick locations when there is not currently enough inventory in the location. It does not make sense to use over-allocation along with this selection to use current location inventory at the same time.
