Creating cycle classes
To create cycle classes:
- Select Configuration > Codes > Cycle Class to open the Cycle Class screen.
- Click New to access the Cycle Class detail view.
-
Specify this
information:
- Cycle Class
- Code identifying the
cycle class. This field is limited to a single character.
Note: This code must be an alpha character between the ranges of A through Z.If this screen is not configured correctly, cycle counting does not work.
- Description
- Text describing the
cycle class. For example:
- A = Fast Mover
- B = Medium Mover
- C = Slow Mover
-
D = Very Slow Mover
This description displays in Configuration > Item > Cycle/Cost > Cycle Class.
- Days
- Number of days to complete a cycle. This should be the number of days that counting is performed during the cycle as opposed to the actual calendar days for the cycle.
- % Pos Count Variance
- Percentage that
determines if the counter receives an error when counting the items. An error
displays when the counter violates the percentage set. The field prevents large
discrepancies when a quantity greater than the actual amount is entered (what
the application shows). Out of Variances require supervisory approval.
Note:
- Optional unless the warehouse tracks over-counts during the cycle count process.
- Prevents large discrepancies when a quantity greater than the application count is entered.
- Counts that violate variance constraints display on the Cycle Count screen.
- % Neg Count Variance
- Percentage that
determines if the counter receives an error when counting the items. An error
displays when the counter violates the percentage set. This field prevents a
large discrepancy when a quantity less than the actual amount is entered. Out
of Variances require supervisory approval.
Note:
- Optional unless the warehouse tracks under-counts during the cycle count process.
- Prevents large discrepancies when a quantity less than the application count is entered.
- Counts that violate variance constraints display on the Cycle Count screen.
- Value Variance Under
- Prevents the counter
from violating previously set dollar amounts. An under variance results in an
error message. The amount can be re-entered or left unchanged. Variances are
flagged as an error and require supervisory resolution. Item retail unit price
is used along with quantity for dollar variance check.
Note:
- Optional unless the warehouse tracks under-counts that affect unit prices during the cycle count process.
- An error displays on the RF device when the counter’s results are less than the value set in this field.
- Counts that violate variance constraints display on the Cycle Count screen.
- Item retail unit price is used to determine if any discrepancy between application count and user count violates the Dollar Variance Under amount.
- Discrepancies are flagged as errors and require supervisory approval or resolution.
- Value Variance Over
- Prevents the counter
from violating previously set dollar amounts. An over variance results in an
error message. The amount can be re-entered or left unchanged. Variances are
flagged as an error and require supervisory resolution. Item retail unit price
is used along with quantity for dollar variance check.
Note:
- Optional unless the warehouse tracks over-counts during the cycle count process.
- An error displays on the RF device when the counter’s results are greater than that the value set in this field.
- Counts that violate variance constraints also display on the Cycle Count screen.
- The amount can be re-entered or left unchanged.
- Item retail unit price is used to determine if any discrepancy between application count and user count violates the Dollar Variance Over amount.
- Discrepancies are flagged as errors and require supervisory approval or resolution.
- Create Supervisor Tasks
- Creates Supervisor tasks if the user count is out of variance on the task directed count.
- Supervisor % Positive Count
- Percentage that
determines if the supervisor count receives an error when counting the items.
An error displays when the counter violates the percentage set. The field
prevents large discrepancies when a quantity greater than the actual amount is
entered (what the application shows). Out of Variances require supervisory
approval.
- Optional unless the warehouse tracks over-counts during the cycle count process.
- Prevents large discrepancies when a quantity greater than the application count is entered.
- Counts that violate variance constraints display on the Cycle Count screen.
- Supervisor % Neg Count Variance
- Percentage that
determines if the Supervisor count receives an error when counting the items.
An error displays when the counter violates the percentage set. This field
prevents a large discrepancy when a quantity less than the actual amount is
entered. Out of Variances require supervisory approval.
- Optional unless the warehouse tracks under-counts during the cycle count process.
- Prevents large discrepancies when a quantity less than the application count is entered.
- Counts that violate variance constraints display on the Cycle Count screen.
- Supervisor Value Negative Variance
- Prevents the
supervisor count from violating previously set dollar amounts. An under
variance results in an error message. The amount can be re-entered or left
unchanged. Variances are flagged as an error and require supervisory
resolution. Item retail unit price is used along with quantity for dollar
variance check .
- Optional unless the warehouse tracks under-counts during the cycle count.
- An error displays on the RF device when the counter's results are greater than that the value set in this field
- Counts that violate variance constraints also display on the Cycle Count screen.
- The amount can be re-entered or left unchanged.
- Item retail unit price is used to determine if any discrepancy between application count and user count violates the Dollar Variance Under amount.
- Discrepancies are flagged as errors and require supervisory approval or resolution.
- Supervisor Value Positive Variance
- Prevents the
supervisor count from violating previously set dollar amounts. An over variance
results in an error message. The amount can be re-entered or left unchanged.
Variances are flagged as an error and require supervisory resolution. Item
retail unit price is used along with quantity for dollar variance check.
- Optional unless the warehouse tracks over-counts during the cycle count process.
- An error displays on the RF device when the counter's results are greater than that the value set in this field.
- Counts that violate variance constraints also display on the Cycle Count screen.
- The amount can be re-entered or left unchanged.
- Item retail unit price is used to determine if any discrepancy between application count and user count violates the Dollar Variance Over amount.
- Discrepancies are flagged as errors and require supervisory approval or resolution
- % Of Transaction Count By Location
- Indicates the percentage of locations in the
warehouse that will be reclassified when the Reclassify Location Cycle Class
job in the scheduler runs successfully.
- You can edit this field in the list view and in the detail view.
- The value in this field (reflecting the combined aggregate total of all cycle classes) must not exceed 100 percent. If the value specified is greater than 100 percent, an error message is displayed indicating that the aggregate in the % of Transaction Count By Location field must not exceed 100 percent.
- In the Scheduler, create a Cycle Class Reclassification job. In the Type field, select Background Server Job. In the Store Procedure Name field, specify the name NSPRECLASSCC.
- Click Save.
