Creating reason codes
Whenever you reject a task completely or do not complete the task as expected by the system, you must enter a reason code to indicate why the task execution was modified. Each reason code’s configuration includes information on the type of action the application takes each time the reason code is selected. The reason code can signal the application to assign other actions, such as a cycle count, or to flag that task for supervisor review.
To create a reason code:
- Select Configuration > Codes > Task Reason to open the Reasons screen.
- Click New to access the Reasons Detail detailed view.
-
Specify this information:
- Task Manager Reason
- Unique code identifying the reason for rejecting a task completely or shorting a pick task. Required.
- Description
- Description of the reason code.
- LPN Hold Code
- Select a hold code to use if an LPN is placed on hold when this reason code is used.
- Generate Cycle Count for problem location?
- Specify whether a cycle count request should be generated for the problem location. Options are Yes or No.
- Re-issue Task After Release Time
- Specify whether the task will be re-issued after release time. Options are Yes or No. If Yes, the Transaction Release Interval is used to determine the amount of time before the task is issued.
- Task Status
- Select a new status to assign to the task when this reason code is used. If the task must still be performed, select Pending. If the task should not be performed, select Complete or Canceled.
- To Location
- Select the location where the items are moved when this reason code is used. The location must exist in the application.
- Location Hold Code
- Select the hold code to apply to the location if this reason code is used for a task.
- Allow transaction to continue processing?
- Specify whether the transaction continues after the reason code is assigned to it. Options are Yes or No.
- Transaction Release Interval (minutes)
- Specify the number of minutes from the time the reason code
is used in the task until it should be available to be issued again to a user.
The maximum interval time allowed is 99. Changing the interval time associated
with a reason code only affects processing from the point the record is saved
and onward. Tasks that are already waiting for release for the reason code will
not be updated with a new release time.
Default value: 10
- Re-Allocate Orders
- Specify whether to run the re-allocation process if the order is
not picked complete. Possible options:
- None
- Do not Reallocate
- Do not Move Inventory and Reallocate
- Move Inventory and Reallocate
- Move Inventory and Do not Reallocate
- Split Pick with new case ID for remaining: se
this code to split the pick and create a new case ID for the remaining
picks. All remaining picks for the original case ID are assigned to
the new case ID.Note: You must set the Allow transaction to continue processing? field value to Yes when using this option.
The picker can specify the quantity to pick, which is less than the quantity for the pick when it is cartonized, and specify the reason code. This option can be used with Pooled orders.
This option can be used with these picking types:
- Split Pick Cluster Picking by order
- Split Pick Cluster Picking by CaseID
- Split pick using order pooling
- Split Pick Assignment Picking with Task Manager
- Skip Assigned Picks
- When you select this field, the fields within the reason code are disabled except for the Description, Re-issue Task after Release Time, Task Status, and Transaction Release Interval fields. The other fields are greyed out and set to default values.
- Create New Cherry Pick Replenishment Task in Same Zone
- Select this box to indicate if a new task is automatically created
for a replenishment task when the quantity entered by the user is less than
the quantity on the task. You must configure the reason code to move the
inventory, that is not located in the location, to a HOLD location. The new
replenishment task will be created in the same zone as the original task.
All tasks will have the same TO
LPN.
This code can be used for both Cherry Pick and Cherry Pick Multiple.
- Click Save.
