General tab

Use this tab to specify details related to carrier such as name, supplier, and company.

  1. Click the General tab.
  2. Specify this information:
    Supplier
    Key to the carrier record. This should be an abbreviation of the carrier’s company name or of the record type associated with the owner. This is the only Required field on the General tab.
    Company
    Full name of the company associated with the carrier or long description of the record type.
    Description
    Description of the carrier.
    Type
    Type of carrier being created. See the owner types description earlier in this section for an explanation of the different types.
    Note: Type must be configured in Codes before use in supplier configuration.
    Small Parcel SCAC
    Small Parcel SCAC Code for the carrier. If small parcel shipping system (Infor SPS) is integrated with WM, then select the Small Parcel System Carrier checkbox and select the appropriate SCAC code on the SPS Parameters tab. See Infor WMS Small Parcel Shipping User Guide.
    Carrier SCAC
    Standard Carrier Alpha Code is a two-to-four letter identification used by the transportation industry to identify freight carriers in the United States. International companies using a multi-byte language, such as Chinese, Japanese, etc., should use a unique two-to-four digit numeric code to identify the freight carriers in SCE. It is required when utilizing the rating and routing feature within TM.
    Value Added Identifier
    Carrier Value-Added Tax ID used primarily in Intra-European Community trade. It can also be used for a United States EIN (Employer Identification Number).
    SPS System Carrier
    Check box that indicates whether the carrier is an SPS system carrier. If the box is checked, the text "The Small Parcel Carrier: Select Carrier from SPS Parameters Tab" displays to provide indication to the user to make SPS selections on the SPS Parameters tab. Checking the box enables the SPS selections on the SPS Parameters tab. If the user unchecks the box, the prompt "Unchecking Small Parcel System Carrier will remove from SPS Carriers" is displayed.
    Pallet Exchange Tracking
    Check box that indicates whether pallet exchange will be tracked. This allows the tracking of various container types.
    Capture Tracking ID at Pack
    Check box that indicates whether the tracking ID is captured during the packing process. Default value is Off (box in not checked).
    Currency Code
    The standard currency codes used by this carrier. The currency type determines how many decimals are used in currency fields
    Carrier Commingle Group at Load
    Select a carrier group to use during loading.
    Carrier Commingle Group at Pick/Pack
    Select a carrier group to use during picking or packing.
  3. Select another tab to specify more information or click Save.
