Updating the catch data or weight for a serial number record

This function can be used to alter weight or other catch data that was captured at receipt when an item was tracked using end-to-end serial numbers. In this scenario, the weight and/or other data are directly linked to the serial number.

Note:  This function does not allow the serial number to be changed; only the weight or data associated with it can be changed.

To update the catch data or weight associated to a serial number:

  1. From the Serial Maintenance (SNM) menu, select Serial Update. The Serial Maint (SN1) screen displays.
  2. Select U in the Function field to perform an update.
  3. Enter the Serial Number to edit in the Ser# field. The serial number is the only information required if serial number is unique across all items.
  4. If necessary, enter additional information into the Ownr, Item, or LPN fields to identify the serial number to edit.
    Note: For this function, do not enter information into the Rcpt#, Line#, Order# or Pick Key fields.
  5. Press Enter to navigate through the remaining fields. The Serial Update (SU1) screen displays.

    Only the weight and data fields that were configured for Inbound Capture of the item are displayed.

  6. Modify the values for any of the fields as needed.
  7. Press Enter to navigate through the fields and complete the update.
    • If the Weight field value is modified, the inventory weight associated to the license plate is adjusted. A transaction is created to track the weight adjustment.
