Period Recurring Billing
Recurring charges can be created on periodic basis that originates from a previous charge
instead of inventory balances. The recurring period is determined on the billing event for an
event group with a period recurring invoice type. An initial charge must be created with the
recurring invoice type and event group, to create a charge. For example, if a service charge
must be created every month, the monthly charge record is created on the specified day.
The new charge is created with the same charge quantity except an extensibility rule is created, to calculate a charge quantity. In addition, the charge rate also does not change except for the original charge. The original charge contains a rate group and the rate is modified due to rate group effective and expiration dates.
