Pre-allocating work orders

Pre-allocate work orders before they are released. This allows you to enforce balanced component shipping, which means that if shortages exist for one or more kit components, all component quantities and the parent kit quantity are adjusted.

  1. Select Work Order > Management > Work Order.
  2. To display a list, click Search.
  3. Select the work order you want to pre-allocate. The Detail List tab is displayed.
  4. Click Actions and select Pre-allocate Work Order. This action also reserves the component inventory for the work order.
