2D Barcode Receiving
While some 2D barcode standards do exist, the 2D barcodes are still evolving with multiple symbologies in use across industries and geographical location. A few symbologies are heavily favored (QR codes, PDF417, Aztec, Data Matrix, etc.), but there are variations encountered within the symbologies themselves. In addition to Application Identifiers (AIs) used in traditional barcodes like the UCC/EAN-128, 2D barcodes sometimes have AIs encoded within them or similar concepts such as data identifiers and element identifiers. The application allows the receiver to scan a 2D barcode during the entry of an RF receipt record.
The application performs the following:
- Recognizes the scan of this barcode
- Parses the information into its individual data elements
- Adds information into the appropriate RF fields
- 2D barcodes can include an almost unlimited number of characters used as delimiters, data and application identifiers, FNC characters, and the actual data string itself.
