Consolidated picking overview
Consolidated picking, which is also referred to as speed picking, is a pick process similar to batch picking. The total quantity required for multiple orders is moved to a temporary location. The picks then occur from the temporary or speed pick location. Use this process to pick multiple orders from storage while the travel time required to move the inventory from the storage location is limited. Because the speed pick location is more accessible to the picker, less time is required to complete the picks.
Because consolidated picking involves grouping orders, you must use wave planning to use this functionality.
